We offer you these excursions to give you a true and real highlight of the Gambia. That is to let you learn about the culture, tradition and the life style of the Gambian people. Exploring the Gambia within your holiday through our unique excursions is very possible with us. A big experience and knowledge is gained at the end of each tour. Most of our excursions are a combination of boat trips and land. Experience guides guide these excursions.

The prices allocated to the excursions are for a group with a minimum four people. Contacts us if you want to book for less than four.

 

 

BINTANG BOLONG

Price: £75 p/p
This is a two-day excursion which starts by cursing up river and drive back by coach.
Bintang is a village located on a tributary *Bolong in mandinka*10km from the river Gambia and 50km from Banjul. This is to enable you see the dolphins, slave house at James island, nursery schools, adult education center, cultural dancing and local soup factory.

 

 

                  
 

TENDABA


Price: £95 p/p
Tendaba is 165km up stream river Gambia from Banjul. Cursing the river Gambia will be very fascinating to see water birds, dolphins, slave house. Spending a night at the Tendaba Camp will be among the good memories you will gather after the trip. The coach will be waiting after breakfast for the game park at the president village *Kanilai Stops will be made for adult education centers, vegetables gardens and day care centers. This excursion will take two days.

   
       
 

KANILAI


Price: £50 p/p
This is the home village of the president of the Gambia. The rich game park and his palace worth a visit. The st josephs family farm center will be visited. Vegetable gardens and schools will be as well visited. It is a whole day trip up country.

   
       
 

MASQUERADE DANCE

Price: £45 p/p
We offer you this excursion to sow you the root culture of the jola tribe. The jolas are the second largest tribe in the Gambia and the president is from the jola tribe. To refresh you before this big event, a stop at a school will be made. Here you will be welcome by the school followed by drama and educative songs by the students.
The last stop is for your village lunch then the traditional disply.the day will start with a typical jola masquerade dance and the circumcision dance when men will be dressed in dancing cloths with anti knives and razor blades jujus. They will be using sharp knives and razor blades to cut their bodies. It is fascinating to see real black power.

Barra for the ferry to cross for Banjul.
Banjul, tour at the capital city of the Gambia including the market and the police head quarters.

MAKASUTU


Price: £35 p/p

Makasutu means sacred forest in mandinka. These forest situated on a tributary 6km from Brikama.
The forest is beautified with handy craft and its natural nature. Best place for bird watching. This tour will take you a full day. The big Brikama craft market will be visited on your way back.

   
 


     
 

JUFERH

Price: £60 p/p
This village become world famous in the 70s by Alex Haley with his book titled Roots.
The village is on the edge of river Gambia. Crossing the river Gambia to the south with the ferry, dolphins maybe spotted. Interesting to see trucks loaded with goods and market women on the ferry. This will give a chance to see the local people on the southern bank of the Gambia. A boat trip to the slave house will be made. The museum will be visited for more high lights of the slave trade. This is a very touching trip but we cannot help it. Is too late to correct our great grand parents yet we need the records for history.
The tour will take you the whole day.

   
       
 

WRESTLING


Price: £50 p/p
This is a typical Gambian sport. It is full culture and tradition during the day. The day is full of different melodious songs and drumming from different tribes. The wrestlers, to have extra energy and be protected from dark energy use jujus and spiritual water. This start in the evenings at every weekend.

   
       
 

WASSU STONE CIRCLES


Price: £120 p/p
The stone circles are believe to be burial site after the circles were constructed. There is a museum to give you more in formations about this historic site. The excursion is up country drive to George Town with a boat trip on the river Gambia fresh waters. Were you will see hippos, monitor lizards baboons and chimps.
This is a three days excursion with a lot of activities through out the tour.

     
       
 

MARKET HIGHLIGHTS


Price: £30 p/p
The main idea of this tour is to give you a hint of our market life. The Banjul and Serekunda markets will be visited as the two main markets in the Gambia. Remote markets too will be visited to give a chance to see the different stranded of livings in the Gambia. It is a full day trip with a lunch at the Bkau beach.

   
       
 

BEREFET


Price: £75 p/p
This trip will take you two days with a night at the Berefet lodge. Cursing from lamin lodge into the mouth of river Gambia will be very fascinating. Dolphins, water birds fishermen and ladies collecting oysters will be spotted.
The cultural show displayed by local people will be the aspect of the day. Stops will be made for schools and vegetable gardens.
